The Heart of the Matter

The Heart of the Matter

IWS Journal 2014 to 2016

[Oct. 2014] Getting to the heart of the matter requires examining the matters of the heart. Too many people are afraid of what they know they will find; so they don’t go looking. They won’t even look at their own reflection in the mirror.

This is why inaction and the unwillingness to take a stand are the only actions those without foundational principles can take.

[Oct. 2016] I am weary of debating with my friends and not-so-much friends, about who America will decide gets to occupy the White House on Nov. 8.

I am more interested in who you and I will be and where we will stand on 11-9.

The “we the people” who decide the fate of our Republic in a couple of weeks are not thinking like you and me, the individual. Perhaps you have noticed.

The fate of your family, neighborhood and community will be determined by who WE are and where WE stand, on 11-9 and beyond. The principles and values that we are willing to pledge our lives, fortunes and honor to defend, are the only ideas worth debating at this point.

God bless us all as the season of testing approaches.

Declaration

My Declaration
The founders pledged their lives, fortunes and honor for an idea… THE Idea. Not a government. Never a person.

I WILL STAND… Alone if God wills. I will rely on divine providence. Will others stand with me? God knows. Only YOU know. If you can look in the mirror and make a covenant between you and God, to defend the IDEA that is America… Then we are brothers. Compatriots.

For those who still believe that “we” need to do something and “someone” needs to organize… may your chains be light on you as you go on your way.

Change begins in the heart. Change never comes from the ‘we’ … Change begins with “I Will.” Change becomes real with “I Will Stand.”

Choose your rendezvous with destiny

Have a grand Independence Day!

Now that we are thinking (a little) about the ideas of independence, freedom, liberty and the founding principles that made America the greatest nation in the world, this is probably a good time to choose whether you will live like a person determined to be free… or not.

These aren’t shallow words, but what do they mean? They were written by Brigadier General Anthony Wayne in a short letter to George Washington after they won an important victory at Stony Point. Wayne was wounded by a bullet in his head. It was said he had to write this letter to Washington before he would let them take the bullet out of his head. The letter read:

Stoney Point [N.Y.]
16th July 1779 2 OClock a.m.

Dear Genl

The fort & Garrison with Colo. Johnston are ours—Our1 Officers & men behaved like men who are determined to be free.2 Yours Most Sincerely

Anty Wayne

Are you living like a person determined to be free?

Are Americans living like a people determined to be free?

How are we going to get this feeling back? Fireworks and cookouts certainly aren’t doing the trick.

I’m convinced that the only way to return to the kind of American exceptionalism that founded this nation, is to encourage you, to look in the mirror and say… to believe… “I want to live like a person determined to be free.” Then you convince the next person, then another.

“You and I have the courage to say there is a price we will not pay. There is a point beyond which they must not advance… you and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We’ll preserve for our children this, the last best hope on earth.”

~ Ronald Reagan

History is made when one person, does a humble act, then others follow. There will never be a great leader of nations from the start. Don’t wait for others to lead. Don’t ask whether others will stand on the principles our Founders pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to uphold and defend.

Do look in the mirror and pledge to yourself, your family and to future generations:

“I Will Stand.”

Or don’t.

“If you love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace.

“We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”

~ Samuel Adams

Time to Choose

cakeordead

This tweet has it about 98% right. The only connection that is missing is the fact that the world is now at the precipice of a great war of cultures.

Two cultures: One that worships the god of the Quran, and follows the commands of its prophet; and another that worships the God of the Bible, and follows the commands of Jesus Christ (who was foretold and fulfilled ALL of the Biblical prophecies, including his crucifixion and resurrection.)

These two cultures have been at odds since the beginning of time. And let’s be clear. This is not an epic battle between conflicting “religions;” nor is this a physical war over ideologies. This war certainly isn’t over resources or territories.

No. These two warring cultures are spiritual. We are seeing the consequences, or results of an overall culture that follows the spirits of good or evil. One culture worships that which brings darkness, hate, murder, lies, damnation and death. The other culture worships that which brings light, love, truth, salvation and life. (You don’t have to practice a certain religion, or believe in a god at all to live in a culture that follows either light or darkness. You WILL experience the consequences however, if that culture clashes with your own personal beliefs. Example: being openly gay in the Middle East tends to result in your murder.)

Once you identify and name your enemy; once you understand what the battle is really about–your soul–then it becomes a simple matter of choosing sides, doesn’t it? (Remember: Silence is also a choice.)

So… Where will you stand? Choose a side. You can’t just sit there and point fingers at people-groups and religions and lifestyles. You can’t just hope to be neutral and escape harm while the spirits of good and evil duke it out, using humans as both weapon and shield. Nope.

YOUR SOUL IS AT STAKE! Where will you stand? Choose.

And may I offer a little advice? If you do decide to choose to side with the God of the Bible, He has some armor for you.

Ephesians 6:11-13 (NKJV)

11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Who Will Stand For Liberty?

Regarding our Republic and who will commit themselves to conserving Liberty:

The only thing I have, is my integrity. The only way to multiply it is to stand firm and pray that others will stand with you. I will NOT abdicate my responsibilities as an American and a patriot, not even to a man who may be president.

I will not stand with, nor place my trust in the pie crust promises of ANY man who does not fully believe that the ideas established in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are worth pledging his life, fortune and sacred honor to defend.

That I will likely be vilified or persecuted for standing on the promise of Liberty–sanctified with the blood of our founders–at the hands of the people who believe Mr. Trump will save our nation from the fundamental transformation ahead, will vindicate me and prove my words true.

Truth: 2 Chronicles 7:14

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

A nation can not be great again, unless it turns from the acts and rejects the ideas that led it to be not so great. Americans must expect from its leaders, no less than they expect from themselves.

Will you stand, or tie your shoes?

Here’s an interesting thought experiment for today: If Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had believed God when He said to not bow down to idols, but when the time came to stand for their beliefs, noticed that their sandals were untied and took that opportunity to remedy the situation, what do you think would have happened?
When the time comes for YOU to either take a stand or bow to the will of tyrants, or the peer pressure of the majority… will you discover that your shoes are untied?
It’s a tough question that requires fearful consideration. But be sure… a time will come when you WILL be asked.
Plan ahead.
