Time to Choose

 

This tweet has it about 98% right. The only connection that is missing is the fact that the world is now at the precipice of a great war of cultures.

Two cultures: One that worships the god of the Quran, and follows the commands of its prophet; and another that worships the God of the Bible, and follows the commands of Jesus Christ (who was foretold and fulfilled ALL of the Biblical prophecies, including his crucifixion and resurrection.)

These two cultures have been at odds since the beginning of time. And let’s be clear. This is not an epic battle between conflicting “religions;” nor is this a physical war over ideologies. This war certainly isn’t over resources or territories.

No. These two warring cultures are spiritual. We are seeing the consequences, or results of an overall culture that follows the spirits of good or evil. One culture worships that which brings darkness, hate, murder, lies, damnation and death. The other culture worships that which brings light, love, truth, salvation and life. (You don’t have to practice a certain religion, or believe in a god at all to live in a culture that follows either light or darkness. You WILL experience the consequences however, if that culture clashes with your own personal beliefs. Example: being openly gay in the Middle East tends to result in your murder.)

Once you identify and name your enemy; once you understand what the battle is really about–your soul–then it becomes a simple matter of choosing sides, doesn’t it? (Remember: Silence is also a choice.)

So… Where will you stand? Choose a side. You can’t just sit there and point fingers at people-groups and religions and lifestyles. You can’t just hope to be neutral and escape harm while the spirits of good and evil duke it out, using humans as both weapon and shield. Nope.

YOUR SOUL IS AT STAKE! Where will you stand? Choose.

And may I offer a little advice? If you do decide to choose to side with the God of the Bible, He has some armor for you.

When Taking a Stand Hurts Others

Michael Farris, Chancellor of Patrick Henry College and Chairman of HSLDA recently posted a sentiment to his Facebook page, that no doubt rings true for millions of Americans:

I hope to move on to other issues soon but the future of our country is at stake and I am compelled in my spirit to speak out about the presidential race.

I have staked out a position for nearly 40 years with two key ideas. Character matters. Constitutional principles matter.

If people like me support Donald Trump then we forfeit the right to ever again claim to speak for these ideas.

Supporting Trump means that being a Republican is more important than a Christian worldview on character and a constitutional worldview on government.

If I forfeit my convictions then I am no longer the person I have claimed to be.

A presidential election is very important. But it is not sufficiently important to forfeit our ability to speak the truth about character and conviction.

Here I stand. I can do no other.

I don’t need to tell you the kind of heated blow-back taking this kind of stand creates. You’ve no doubt seen it across social media.

The bile, doom-and-gloom, apocalyptic rhetoric can be boiled down to some basics:

1. A vote for anyone other than Trump, means Hillary in the White House.
2. If you don’t cave to your idiot religious convictions and vote for Trump, then Hillary will get in and THEN your religious liberties will be TOTALLY gone. (Can you feel the irony there?)
3. If you don’t cave on your convictions… then ALL OF AMERICA will be hurt. (Translation: “Life will suck for me, so get off your religious high horse and do what I tell you to do. *sniff* I’m scared.”)
4. Etc., etc., etc.

Taking a principled stand is tough.

Why yes… yes it is! Forgoing expedience and taking a stand for something because it’s right, sometimes can get you hurt. Allowing a culture to destroy itself by not going along with the culture that’s destroying itself, ultimately hurts the culture. Then they blame their problems on the principled ones… so they hurt them. It’s history. It always happens. Get used to it.

In case you haven’t noticed, our culture has already started circling the toilet bowl. As we all swirl into the vortex together, people without conviction (let alone an oar to help paddle out of this mess) will be honestly perplexed! Why would someone take a stand on an issue that could not only get themselves hurt, but the rest of America too?

“We’re all in the crapper together… without a paddle! What are you doing with a paddle? Don’t you see that the rest of us have democratically voted to not use paddles? Quit paddling! You’ll get us all hurt!” 

Let’s face it, the “hurting others” thing is why Trump supporters are most worried. See, Trump supporters are more worried about themselves than those who might be making the hardest principled stand of their lives.

“Sure Trump is a dirt bag. Everyone knows that. BUT if you don’t vote for Trump then America will go to hell–and take me with it.”

Well maybe you should have thought about that during the primaries, and voted for the person who had at LEAST a little more integrity and class than the Orange Man. I assure you… they were (and still are) out there.

Look around you Trumpers. Democratic Socialists, Liberals and Progressives are voting for Socialism and Vice, Treason and Tyranny. The Republican GOP, RINOs and (establishment) Progressives are voting for a Strongman King. And the Constitutionalists? They vote for anyone who will admit they have a clue what the Constitution stands for. And you say THEY are ruining the country? Surely… you jest.

All of America is marching away from something we used to call a Republic, and heading directly towards something they’ve heard, called ‘democracy’. The only people standing in their way, are those principled patriots. If they would only cave on those stupid principles, then we’d all be saved.

Frankly, if history holds any clues to our future, then no matter who ends up in the White House, those of us who stood our ground will be the first to feel the pain. Both the Trumpers and the Socialists will see to that.

Stand by your convictions, ladies and gentlemen. They’re all you’ve got that has any meaning in this world. Make the things on which you stand, worth your Life, your Fortune, and Your Sacred Honor. Our Founding Fathers did, and we still remember them today. History’s dust bin is full of those who chose expedience over principles.

Never Forget 9-11: Thirteen Years

Listening to Glenn Beck this morning, is making my heart ache. I remember 9/11/2001.

Thirteen years ago.

I heard an alert on the radio, ran downstairs and turned on the television. After what seemed like hours of stunned silence, I saw the second plane hit the towers and waited for the anchors, watching live, to process what was going on. See… up to that point, they (we) were watching a horrible accident — a plane had somehow gone astray, malfunctioned, and accidentally hit the World Trade Towers.

Now that I look back on it, I believe I processed exactly what was happening, long before the television heads watching live with me, figured it out. We were under attack.

I called my two oldest children downstairs and we all watched in horror. I explained what I thought we were seeing. I answered questions as best I could. When the kids wanted to go do something else, I let them. I just sat there and watched, knowing our world will no longer be the same.

I prayed.

Last night, President Obama said that we will be going BACK into Iraq to push back ISIS/ISIL. On the day before the anniversary of 9/11, when thousands of aliens of unknown nationality are pouring over the borders, when we are being warned of more “chatter” about attacks on American soil… our president commits to more meddling in the Middle East, and, by the way, ISIL isn’t an extremist Muslim group.

So this morning, what else can I do? I reflect on what I know to be true, and what I know to be a lie. I ponder what it may mean to me and my family for me to take a stand for a principle or idea today, that might become politically incorrect tomorrow. And I pray for our nation.

I pray that my children, too young at the time, to understand what was really happening; what was–and is–at stake in the battle against good and evil….

I pray that they will not be as complacent as we were on September TENTH, 2001. I pray that they will not falter and succumb to the lie that is political correctness. Intellectual slavery, you go by the initials, P.C.

I pray that my children (and your children) will become aware, bold and strong in their faith, their convictions, and instilled with a firm reliance on the Divine Providence that blessed this country at its founding.

I pray that we, the parents, the ones responsible for raising the next generation of Americans, can muster the strength that only God can provide, and pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor to protecting and defending our great nation, for our posterity.

I pray … God bless America.

On this alone, I Will Stand.

Attack Watch (your back)

There are two ways to approach something that could very well spell the difference between serious usurpations of liberty and… well, not. One way to approach impending loss of liberty is to get all serious and yell and scream. Result, “conspiracy freak” label.

When God Asks You to Take a Stand, Will You?

GOD BLESS THE FAMILIES OF THOSE INJURED AND KILLED IN THE STAGE COLLAPSE INDIANA STATE FAIR. AND GOD BLESS THOSE  CAME TO THEIR AID.

I went back to it again, with the tragic event at the Indiana State Fair this past weekend.

 

We are once again confronted with the question: “If God is so great, why does He let people get hurt, killed? Shouldn’t He make life wonderful for us and protect us?”

The answer to this question is deceptively simple. (Like many of God’s concepts, simplicity causes those who believe themselves wise to be confounded.)

To answer this question, one need only look at how you, as a loving father (or parent) show love to YOUR children. Do you hover over them and protect them from every possible inconvenience that might befall them? Or do you love them so much, that you will allow them to make their own mistakes, sometimes IN SPITE OF THE FACT YOU TOLD THEM “DON’T TOUCH THAT! IT’S HOT!” not two seconds earlier?

Does your heart ache every time your children lash out and say things like, “I hate you!” — even though down deep you believe (hope) they don’t mean it? Is it possible God feels the same things when you curse him for every bad thing YOU think shouldn’t be bad?

Instead of blaming God for tragic human events, or even for man-made tragic human events, pain, suffering, war, etc., maybe we should take a moment and wonder to ourselves: “Could this be the opportunity I have been praying for? Could this be the ‘opportunity to learn patience, be courageous, love my family, take a stand, that I have been praying for?”

And if that still, small voice in your heart answers yes (or even maybe) then NOW is the time to act. Don’t worry what others think. Don’t worry what others believe.

I believe God gave HUNDREDS of people in Indianapolis an opportunity to think beyond themselves for a moment, and risk their safety, comfort, even their lives in order to save or serve another person.

Want proof? Are you amazed, proud, choked up, humbled, whenever you see those pictures of hundreds of arms reaching up to lift the tons of rigging off the stage? Do you want to cry, you’re so proud of our fellow Hoosiers? You KNOW INSTINCTIVELY that God uses opportunities like this to bless the caregivers and those in need, all at once. YOU KNOW IT! Even if you don’t believe in God… you know it.

God is answering our prayers every single day; patiently waiting for us to hear, understand His reasons and act — to see the wisdom in the way He chooses to show us how to glorify Him and serve others.

It will take three words to put His will for you into action: “I Will Stand.”

Yes… It’s just that simple.

Ignoring the state, in other words, standing up for yourself and doing without government intrusion in every aspect of your life, is something that Tolstoy dealt with a long, long, time ago.

An Army of Davids or Are We Sheeple?

Our nation is being subjected to “Fundamental Change” from within. When you change something from the foundation up, you must first destroy the foundation. This is what we are seeing before our very eyes.

Liberties, Freedoms, Property (rights) are being whittled away bit by bit, by the very people whom we expect to protect and defend those rights.

My friend, Bruno explained it well via his Extreme Wisdom Blog by asking, “Are we an Army of Davids, or Sheep?”. We recently had another terrorist attack (this one an attempt that failed) on Christmas day. There was at least one person on board the fated plane that stood up and took action.

Jasper Schuringa is our “David of the Day.” He didn’t think… or ponder the implications of tackling someone who was of a politically correct protected class. This hero, saw that another human with evil intent was in the process of trying to kill everyone on that plane.

The story is still being written, but the important part is history: Someone stood up. Someone took a stand and did what was right, and people’s lives were saved. Let’s hope he doesn’t get punished for pointing out, yet another terrorist attack has happened on American soil since Barack Obama entered the White House.
